BREVARD COUNTY • SATELLITE BEACH, FLORIDA – Merritt Island defensive coordinator Brian Helton has been selected as Satellite High School’s new football head coach.

Helton spent the last four seasons leading the Mustang’s defense.

Last season under Helton, the Mustangs allowed just 78 points and punched a ticket to the Class 5A state championship game where they finished State Runner-Up.

Helton will replace Knox Robinson who stepped down in May after taking over from long-time Scorp coach Ted Kimmey, who resigned last January.

Satellite is coming off a historic season after finishing with a 10-3 record and recording their first playoff victory in program history.
