Palm Bay Police Department Honors Longtime Volunteer Peg Rutledge With VCOP Spotlight

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The Palm Bay Police Department recognized longtime volunteer Peg Rutledge with October’s VCOP Spotlight.
When you have five members of law enforcement in your family, it gets in your blood, so to speak.
That’s why volunteering for the Palm Bay Police Department is so important to Rutledge.
She stepped up to support our local department by working at the Front Desk, greeting every citizen who walks in the door with a warm smile and kind words.
Originally from Candor, New York, she and her husband made their way to Florida in 1984 and quickly made it “home”. Peg has 4 sons and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She spent more than 40 years working with large corporations in Human Resources. She loves to listen to music, read, and travel.
Don’t be surprised to see her smiling face elsewhere.
Palm Bay Police Department is not the only organization benefitting from Peg’s desire to give back.
The Palm Bay Senior Center, where she was recruited to join the VCOPs, and the Welcome Desk at Palm Bay Hospital are also lucky to have her support once each week.
She loves meeting people, which makes the Front Desk a perfect fit.
