Florida Tech’s 89.5 FM WFIT to Host Sonic Waves Music Festival at the Eau Gallie Arts District April 15

Free Event Features Four Central Florida Bands

Four bands bringing different sounds but universal grooves will fill the Eau Gallie Arts District with songs as Florida Tech’s 89.5 FM WFIT presents the Sonic Waves Music Festival. BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Four bands bringing different sounds but universal grooves will fill the Eau Gallie Arts District with songs as Florida Tech’s 89.5 FM WFIT presents the Sonic Waves Music Festival.

The public event runs from 5-10 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, at Intracoastal Brewing Co., 652 W. Eau Gallie Blvd. Admission is free.

Drinks and food from local vendors will be available for purchase, and several area non-profit organizations will have information booths.

The festival is sponsored by Intracoastal Brewing Co.

Performances begin at 5 p.m., with half-hour breaks between each group. Here’s a look at who is performing and when.

Syd Taylor is a solo singer and multi-instrumentalist performing cover tunes as well as original compositions. (5-5:30 p.m.)

WEEP is a three-piece, all-female band featuring infectious melodies, tight harmonies, and lyrics that echo the human condition. Its unique sound blends rock, funk, and a touch of the blues to create an acoustic tapestry that is both modern and nostalgic. (6-6:45 p.m.)

Coastal Breed performs original surf rock and reggae.

The four-piece band from Cocoa Beach is known for performing with artists like Pepper, Badfish, The Supervillains, and Ballyhoo, as well as its concerts at large-scale music festivals around Florida. (7:15-8 p.m.)

Tru Phonic is the collaboration of Jake Salter and a unique group of talented musicians. Sounds of jam, funk, blues, rock, soul, jazz, and hip-hop can be heard in their music.

Established in 2017, Tru Phonic is made up of multiple veterans in the Central Florida music scene.

The group has an ever-changing live show with high skill levels shown on each instrument, talented vocal harmonies, powerful lyrics, and a tight horn section. (8:30-10 p.m.)
