BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech has once again earned the Military Friendly Schools designation. Eligibility for this distinction is based upon a core set of outcome data – degree transfer, advancement, graduation, and/or job placement – supplemented by survey responses.

The responses cover six areas the Military Friendly program deems critical in helping veterans thrive on campus and later in the workplace, including academic policies and compliance, culture, and commitment, and military student support and retention.

Over 1,800 schools participated in the 2023-2024 survey and were evaluated. Just 529 of them earned the Military Friendly Schools award. Florida Tech was one of just 29 Tier 2 research institutions to be honored.

“By earning the designation, you’ve set your school apart and have been identified as an ideal fit for potential military and veteran students,” said Kayla Lopez, national director of military partnerships, at Military Friendly. “We want to thank you for your hard work and dedication to the military community.”

The Military Friendly Ratings program was started in 2003 as an advocacy vehicle to encourage civilian organizations to invest in programs to recruit, retain and advance veterans as employees, entrepreneurs, and students.

Military Friendly Schools strive towards and succeed in the areas that matter most in helping veterans make the transition from the military to school and, ultimately, satisfying careers in the civilian world.

Earning the designation shows that your school meets the minimum criteria.

The 2023-2024 Military Friendly Schools list will be published in G.I. Jobs magazine’s May issue.
