OBITUARY: Ellen Buchholz Passed Away Sept. 22 at Age 62 Due to Complications of Heart Disease

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Ellen Mary Buchholz passed away on September 22, 2023, at the young age of 62 due to complications of heart disease. She is survived by her adoring husband Mark William Buchholz and two loving sons, Mark William Buchholz Jr and Ryan Joseph Buchholz.
Ellen was a devoted wife, and loving mother to her sons who she truly adored. She was full of life and will be profoundly missed.
Remembered dearly by her siblings: Joseph F McKeon, David M McKeon(Marie), and Suzanne Weiner(Jonathan). Cherished as a sister-in-law by John A. Buchholz(Mary), William C Buchholz(Diane), James C Buchholz(Karen), Brian N Buchholz and Patricia M Sangenito(Robert)
And eternally missed by her mother-in-law Grace M Buchholz.
Ellen was born on July 22, 1961, to loving parents, Virginia Lee and Joseph F McKeon. She grew up in the Rockaways (NY) with her parents and her siblings not far from the beach on the Atlantic Ocean. Ellen attended Beach Channel High School where she participated in Track & Field and was active in the Student Council Office. Attending the State University at New York at Buffalo, Ellen met her future husband, received a BA and an MBA in Human Resources.
Ellen raised her family in North Baldwin, NY and was very active in the community where she was loved by all. She adored her sons and looked after their well-being by actively participating with the Boy Scouts, the PTA and religious activities with the church.
In 2016, the family moved to Melbourne, FL where she truly loved the state. She loved walking monthly through Disney World, watching rocket launches from her backyard, going to concerts, meeting dear friends for lunch, visiting close friends on Friday nights at Grills, and stopping by the neighbor’s house on Saturday nights for fun, laughter, dancing, and great music.
In her honor, we will be holding two services for family and friends, one in Florida on Saturday, October 14 and another in East Northport, NY on Saturday, November 11. Details for both services are listed below.
There will be wake the night before on Oct. 13 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home, 5400 Village Drive in Rockledge, FL.
A Funeral mass will be held for Ellen Mary Buchholz on Saturday Oct 14 at 1 p.m. at Ascension Catholic Church, 2950 North Harbor City Blvd. in Melbourne.
There will be wake the night before Nov. 10 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Nolan Funeral Home, 5 Laurel Avenue Northport, NY 11768 (631) 754-2400.
A Funeral mass will also be held for Ellen Mary Buchholz on Saturday, Nov 11 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 20 Cheshire Pl, East Northport, NY 11731 (631) 261-1077.
