Joyce Marie Smith, 79, of Mims, passed away on April 26, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Born on December 18, 1946, in Orlando, she was the daughter of the late Lena Byrd Jackson and Boyd Jackson. She married Robert Smith on September 18, 1965, in Titusville, beginning a lifelong partnership centered on family and community.
BREVARD COUNTY• MIMS, FLORIDA – Joyce Marie Smith, 79, of Mims, passed away on April 26, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on December 18, 1946, in Orlando, she was the daughter of the late Lena Byrd Jackson and Boyd Jackson.
She later married Robert Smith on September 18, 1965, in Titusville, beginning a lifelong partnership centered on family and community.
Smith was known as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished time spent with family and friends.
She also had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, enjoying activities such as hunting and fishing, as well as traveling to the Great Smoky Mountains.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Smith; son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Christine Smith; brother, Gary Jackson; grandchildren, Deanna Meincke and Sean Smith; and great-grandchild, Eleanor Carter.
She is also survived by nephews Steven and Jonathan Jackson and their families.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 3, at North Brevard Funeral Home.
