Florida Tech Midfielder Filippo Fazzi Grabs Panthers’ First SSC Offensive Player of the Week

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Graduate midfield Filippo Fazzi from Florida Tech men’s soccer has been named the Sunshine State Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his performances in the past two weeks.
This is Fazzi’s first SSC Player of the Week honor this season and for her career. This is also the Panthers’ first Player of the Week honors this season.
Fazzi registered three goals, including a game-winning goal and an assist in 223 minutes played. He helped lead an impressive offensive output, outscoring opponents 9-2 in three matches. The graduate currently leads the Crimson and Gray with six goals this year.
At home against Palm Beach Atlantic, Fazzi helped Tech take the lead, assisting Jacopo Ghezzi on the first and game-winning goal. Later in the match, Fazzi netted the final two goals in a 5-0 shutout.
On Saturday, the Lucca, Italy native once again contributed to the opening goal and game-winner; however, this time, he was the one to put the ball through the net. The goal was all the Panthers needed to take the 3-0 victory.
Tech continues conference play on the road against Eckerd on Saturday, Oct. 26. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. in St. Petersburg, Fla.
