Palm Bay Police Recognize Longtime Volunteer U.S. Army Veteran Rich Carle With VCOP Spotlight

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The Palm Bay Police Department recognized longtime volunteer U.S. Army Veteran Rich Carle with this month’s VCOP Spotlight.
After serving 20 years in the U.S. Army and another 20 years in the private industry, Rich Carle decided to retire by giving back to the community as a volunteer for the Palm Bay Police Department.
He has proudly served as a Volunteer Citizens on Patrol officer for the past two years.
Rich and his wife, Ingrid, have lived in Palm Bay for 13 years and are active members of their church. He learned about the VCOP program from a fellow church member who also volunteers. You can find him on the golf course or traveling to visit family and friends when he’s not volunteering with the PBPD.
As a VCOP, Rich is part of the patrol division. His responsibilities include neighborhood and commercial security checks, VIN verifications, transporting found property, and assisting with traffic control at accidents and parades.
He approaches every task with a positive attitude and considers himself fortunate to work alongside outstanding patrol partners.
