NHC: Tropical Depression Three Forms Off Southeastern Coast, Mariners Advised to Stay Informed

NHC — As of 8 p.m. on Friday, July 4, 2025, the National Hurricane Center reported the development of Tropical Depression Three in the western Atlantic.
According to Advisory 1A, the depression is located near latitude 30.8°N and longitude 79.0°W, positioned just off the southeast coast of the United States.
The system is currently producing maximum sustained winds of 30 knots, or approximately 35 miles per hour, with a minimum central pressure measured at 1012 millibars. Its forward movement has been slow, drifting northward at just 2 knots, or about 2 miles per hour.
Forecasters will continue to closely monitor the depression’s progress over the coming days, as slow-moving systems can produce prolonged periods of rain, gusty winds, and hazardous marine conditions along the coastal regions.
