Titusville Police Arrest Convicted Felon After Strong-Armed Robbery of 71-Year-Old Woman

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville police officers have arrested a convicted felon from Titusville in connection with a robbery of a 71-year-old woman at the Sunoco Gas Station located at 1390 Garden Street.
According to a Titusville police spokesperson, Justin Robert Pintner, 43, a convicted felon from Titusville, was charged with Strong-Arm Robbery, Attempted Carjacking, Battery on a person over 65 years of age, and Grand Theft.
The Titusville police spokesperson said the incident began on August 22, at approximately 9:38 a.m., when officers responded to a report of a robbery at the gas station on Garden Street.
“The preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect encountered the victim in the parking lot of the gas station and demanded her purse, car keys, and vehicle,” said the TPD spokesperson.
“After a struggle, the suspect was able to take the victim’s purse, containing her keys and other personal items. The victim was not injured.”
At approximately 10:53 a.m., officers located Pintner hiding in a wooded area nearby and took him into custody without incident. The victim’s items were found with the suspect and returned to the victim.
“This case highlights the importance of interagency cooperation and resource allocation,” said the TPD spokesperson.
“With the assistance of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office aviation unit, Titusville Police patrol units, K9 teams, and detectives were able to quickly respond to the area and take this dangerous offender off the streets.”
This reinforces Titusville’s commitment to progressive policing and its pursuit of a safer city for all.
“With the swift work of our officers and partners, the suspect, who preyed upon a vulnerable victim, has been brought to justice,” said Detective Sergeant Bryan Nelson.
“This arrest is a clear reminder of our commitment to provide our citizens a city where they feel safe.”
Pintner was booked into the Brevard County Jail without bond.
