BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The Palm Bay Police Department recently recognized John Sena for his dedication, service, and commitment to keeping the community safe.
A military veteran who served in Afghanistan, Senawas was inspired to give back through the Palm Bay Police Department’s Volunteer Citizens on Patrol program, especially with a parent and daughter serving in law enforcement.
Balancing a full-time career, Sena still makes time each week to patrol the community. Since joining the VCOPs in May 2024, he has been an active member of the patrol staff, assisting with neighborhood and commercial checks, citizen-requested VIN verifications, traffic control support during accidents, downed electrical wires, and parades, along with providing logistical assistance for PBPD whenever needed.
His ability to communicate in both English and Spanish has been an asset in helping citizens.
Beyond his volunteer role, Sena is a family man. He and his wife are raising two sons, two daughters, and four dogs, filling their lives with activity.
In his free time, he can often be found cheering on his children from the sidelines of the soccer field or enjoying local car shows.
