Drivers are encouraged to plan alternate routes during the five-day project

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA — Motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians in Cocoa should plan ahead as W. King Street (State Road 520) will be closed between Washington Street and N. Cocoa Boulevard (U.S. 1) from 7 a.m. on Friday, November 8, through 6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 12.
The closure, implemented by Florida East Coast Railroad, is necessary for a railroad crossing rehabilitation project.
Crews will install new surface materials and improve the crossing to provide a smoother, safer route for everyone using this busy corridor.
Detours will be in place during the closure, and advanced signage has been posted along the roadway at least ten days before the work. Officials warn that the schedule may change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Drivers are encouraged to plan alternate routes during the five-day project to avoid delays.
