Indialantic Elementary 2nd Graders Win Superintendent’s Reading Challenge for Second Straight Year

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Students at Brevard Public Schools are once again celebrating a major academic achievement as second graders from Indialantic Elementary School claimed first place in the districtwide Superintendent’s Reading Challenge for the second consecutive year.
The young readers logged an impressive 72,000 minutes of reading, securing the top spot and showcasing their dedication to literacy and learning.
The milestone was recognized during a special school assembly, where Superintendent Dr. Mark Rendell personally shared the exciting news and congratulated students for their hard work and enthusiasm for reading.

As part of the celebration, each student will receive a book of their choice to take home, along with a commemorative book tag marking their achievement.
School officials say the accomplishment highlights not only the students’ commitment, but also the support of teachers and families who encourage a love of reading both in and out of the classroom.
With back-to-back wins, Indialantic Elementary’s second graders are setting the standard across the district—proving that a passion for reading can lead to outstanding success
