BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA — A recent traffic stop conducted by the Melbourne Police Department Day Watch Alpha team led to the discovery of more than two pounds of marijuana.

According to a Melbourne police spokesperson, on August 22, Officers Brandel and Symeon pulled over a vehicle and discovered more than two pounds of marijuana inside.

The driver, identified as Shannon L. Walcott, was taken into custody and now faces multiple drug-related charges.

Authorities praised the quick actions of the officers, noting that the arrest and recovery contributed to ongoing efforts to keep the community safe.
