FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL: Sebastian Motorcyclist Killed in U.S. 1 Crash in Micco Saturday Night

The Florida Highway Patrol says the 47-year-old rider died after a pickup truck turned into his path near Sebastian Inlet Marina.
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A 47-year-old motorcyclist from Sebastian died Saturday night after a collision with a pickup truck along U.S. Route 1 in Micco, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash occurred at approximately 8:10 p.m. near the intersection of U.S. 1 and Daytona Boulevard, just north of the Sebastian Inlet Marina.
Investigators reported that the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on a 2023 Harley-Davidson when a northbound driver in a 2024 Nissan Frontier attempted to make a left turn onto Daytona Boulevard.
The pickup truck entered the motorcycle’s path, leading to a violent collision.
Witnesses at the scene told investigators the motorcycle appeared to be traveling above the posted speed limit prior to the crash. The impact was severe enough to cause the pickup truck to overturn, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet publicly released the rider’s name pending notification of family members.
The pickup truck driver, a 57-year-old man from Micco, sustained serious injuries in the crash. He was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The crash remains under investigation as troopers continue to review evidence and witness accounts to determine the circumstances leading up to the collision.
Florida Highway Patrol officials have not announced whether any charges are pending.
