BREVARD COUNTY • PORT CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – Antigua’s Reggae Ambassador, Causion, will perform in concert at The Port Canaveral Seafood and Music Festival on Sunday, February 28.

Causion will perform at 3 pm on Sunday on The Space Coast Daily stage before international reggae superstars, Third World.

As a youth in English Harbour, Antigua, singer Causion remembers enjoying a steady diet of reggae — everything from Yellowman to Steel Pulse and Third World.

He recently got the opportunity to work with the latter, touring the United States’ west and east coasts as their opening act.

Causion has also recorded songs produced by guitarist Stephen ‘Cat’ Coore, Third World’s co-founder, and the band’s bassist Richie Daley.

One of those songs, a cover of Third World’s Cold Sweat, is expected to be out soon.

“I’ve been hanging around them for some time and the vibe has always been great. They asked me recently if I would open for them in a different market and jumped at it,” said Causion.

Cold Sweat is from Third World’s 1978 album, Journey to Addis, which contained the smash hit Now That we Found Love.

Coore and Daley also produced songs for The Mission in Progress, Causion’s fourth album which is expected to be released late this year.

Most of the songs on the set are produced by Maurice Gregory, Third World’s keyboardist.

Causion (real name Gregory Bailey) lives in South Florida and has worked that region’s reggae scene for years. His previous album, Stella’s Kid, was released in 2010.
