BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – August 20 marks one year since the passing of Palm Bay Police Sgt. Frank Tobar.

“Not a day goes by where we don’t think of him, his legacy, or the commitment he made to protecting and serving others,” said Palm Bay police officials.

“Yesterday, Sgt. Tobar’s family and members of our agency gathered in our police department to reveal a memorial built in Sgt. Tobar’s honor. The memorial will ensure we never forget how much of an inspiration he was to us all.”

During the memorial, Chief Mario Augello said, “True fulfillment comes from helping others. Frank found joy and happiness helping his friends and family. His true passion was challenging the young minds of our youth, especially the Police Explorers. This will still be our goal here. We will never be able to replace Frank’s passion, but we are going to give it our best shot. We owe this to Frank.”
