Palm Bay Police Department Honors Longtime Volunteer Linda Vaughn With VCOP Spotlight

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The Palm Bay Police Department recognized longtime volunteer Linda Vaughn with November’s VCOP Spotlight.
The world has changed a lot since Linda grew up. Since law enforcement was not an option for her when she was younger, she pursued other work interests such as working as a bank teller coordinator and hospital registrar.
After she retired, she was looking to do something out of her comfort zone.
A newspaper article about the VCOP program with the Palm Bay Police Department caught her eye.
That was eight years ago and Linda has been an active member ever since. She initially volunteered at the front desk and now currently patrols once a week.
Patrolling lets her be out and about in the community, plus she loves talking on the radio! She also enjoys going to local expos and events to recruit other VCOPs.
Linda has lived in Palm Bay since 2006 and her family, including one son, two daughters, and six grandchildren, resides in the Tampa Bay area.
They enjoy a lot of traveling as a family.
When she’s not on the road, you might find this Tampa Bay Lightning fan in her flower garden, reading or working on holiday crafts.
