Palm Bay Police Commander Tim Lancaster Retires After 30 Years of Dedicated Service

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The Palm Bay Police Department recognized Commander Tim Lancaster, who retired after 30 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Palm Bay.
The Palm Bay Police Department would like to congratulate Commander Tim Lancaster on his retirement after serving the City of Palm Bay for nearly 30 years.
During his tenure as an officer, Commander Lancaster has served as a Field Training Officer, Community Resource Officer, Police Athletic League Officer, and as an Underwater Recovery Team Member. He served as the agency’s Lead Defensive Tactics Instructor, Lead Master Taser Instructor, and Firearms Instructor.
Commander Lancaster was also an instructor at Eastern Florida State College for several years and was responsible for the training of hundreds of new recruits throughout Central Florida.
After being promoted to Sergeant in 2002, he served as a Patrol Sergeant and Sergeant over our Special Investigations Unit.
In 2011, he was promoted to Lieutenant, where he served as a Watch Commander within our Uniform Services Division, Support Services Lieutenant, Criminal Investigations Division Lieutenant, and the Underwater Recovery Team Commander.
In 2021, he was promoted to Commander, where he was initially assigned to the Uniform Services Division. He ended his career as the Commander of our Community Services Division. There is no doubt that Commander Lancaster’s training initiatives made an impact on Brevard County and Central Florida.
