Suntree United Methodist Church Free Community Christmas Concert Set Dec. 14

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Suntree United Methodist Church will once again open its doors to the community for the annual Suntree Community Christmas Concert, a celebration of holiday music and performing arts scheduled for Sunday, December 14 at 4 p.m.
The free event, themed A Thrill of Hope, will take place at the church campus at 7400 North Wickham Road and will feature an array of Brevard County musical ensembles, vocal groups and dancers.

A string quartet from the Brevard Symphony Orchestra will take part in the program, offering classical selections of the season. A jazz ensemble from Eastern Florida State College will bring a lively contrast with its own interpretations of holiday favorites.
Young dancers from Pinecrest Academy Space Coast will add movement and charm to the performance. At the same time, members of the Suntree United Methodist Chancel Choir and the church’s contemporary music ministry will contribute both traditional and modern carols.
The Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church Gospel Choir from Palm Bay will also lift its voices in the holiday celebration. Dramatic vignettes presented throughout the 75-minute concert will connect the musical selections to the theme and spirit of the season.
Doors will open at 3 p.m. and early arrival is encouraged to secure seating for the popular event. While admission is free, donations will be accepted in support of ZOE Empowers, an organization committed to providing opportunities for vulnerable orphans in Africa and India.
Reverend Mike Mayes, Pastor of Worship Arts and organizer of the concert, shared his enthusiasm for this year’s expanded program, emphasizing the variety of performers and the event’s uplifting nature.
Suntree United Methodist Church has long served as a venue for notable musical organizations, including the Brevard Symphony Orchestra, Central Florida Winds, Space Coast Flute Orchestra, and the Melbourne Municipal Band.
