BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Bryan was a true Florida Native, born right here in Melbourne, Florida’s Brevard Hospital (what is now Holmes Regional) to Jerry White and JoAnn Martin.

He graduated from Melbourne High School in 1983 and graduated with a BS in Social Studies Education from Florida State University in 1988.

While molding minds in the classroom for over 31 years, he also led athletes on basketball courts and golf courses.

One of his ninth grade teams at Southwest Junior High School won a county championship, his JV team at Palm Bay High School went undefeated two years in a row, and one of his varsity teams at Palm Bay High School went to the state’s elite eight round and then the sweet 16 game in back-to-back seasons.

These are things he was proud of, but his biggest source of pride was his son, who Bryan swore was the catalyst for the 20-0 run that led to the Elite Eight game in which the team played.

Now, 24 years later, Bry continues to make his father proud: he graduated from Bayside High School with a 4.35 GPA, next month, he will graduate with his finance degree, and he continues to sing with a local band that Bryan never tired of listening to.

His life was full of love from and for friends and family. He is survived by his wife of 34 years – Beth, his son – Bry, his brothers – Jody, Tyler, Grady, one niece, and two nephews.

Please help us celebrate his life on May 4, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Complex – 2285 Minton Road near the West Melbourne School for Science. The dress is very casual – shorts, t-shirts, sundresses, etc.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation, in his name, to one of the teaching hospitals that played a big part in Bryan’s life: Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville that performed his kidney transplant or Advent Health in Orlando that was instrumental in providing him with a dignified passing.
