U.S. Navy Veteran Donald Glenn Mason Died Peacefully Surrounded by Family April 4

Surrounded by family, U.S. Navy Veteran Donald Glenn Mason died peacefully April 4, 2023. Don devoted three decades to the NASA Space Flight Program at Kennedy Space Center as a data technician, data engineer and data supervisor in support of Apollo, Skylab, Space Station and Space Shuttle.  His last assignment before retirement was Operations Manager in Dakar, Africa. 

Surrounded by family, U.S. Navy Veteran Donald Glenn Mason died peacefully April 4, 2023.

Don was born in Garrett, Maryland on January 15, 1941 to Forest and Ruth Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers George and Steve.

He is survived by his beloved companion Mary Jane “MJ” Barbour of Sanford, his two daughters, Tracey Mason and Melanie Fales, six grandchildren and one great grandson.

Don devoted three decades to the NASA Space Flight Program at Kennedy Space Center as a data technician, data engineer and data supervisor in support of Apollo, Skylab, Space Station and Space Shuttle.  His last assignment before retirement was Operations Manager in Dakar, Africa.

He was owner of Aurora Electronics and an avid fisherman, an excellent mechanic and restorer of vintage vehicles and he and MJ belonged to three auto clubs – Sanford Florida Time Travelers, Daytona Street Rods, and Titusville Southern Classics. He will be missed by many.

A celebration of life for Don will be held at the Orleans Bistro and Bar, 2204 S. Washington Avenue, Titusville, FL 32780 on Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 1 p.m. to 4 pm.
