UPDATE: Authorities Identify Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on I-95 Near Micco Road

BREVARD COUNTY • SEBASTIAN, FLORIDA – Florida Highway Patrol has released the identity of the motorcyclist crash that occurred at approximately 1:27 p.m. Sunday in the southbound lanes of I-95 in the area of mile marker 163 (Micco Road) in Sebastian.
Authorities say the motorcyclist killed was a 64-year-old Fort Pierce man.
According to FHP Public Affairs Officer Lt. Tara Crescenzi, preliminary evidences shows the motorcycle was traveling southbound on I-95 in the area of mile marker 163 when the rider failed to maintain control of the motorcycle while changing lanes, and as a result, the motorcycle ran off the roadway, entered the wood line, and struck a tree.
Lt. Crescenzi said the victim was pronounced deceased on-scene.
FHP Traffic Homicide Investigators are on-scene investigating this fatal collision and the southbound outside lane on I-95 is currently blocked for the investigation.
