Viera Hawks Baseball Defeats George Jenkins 4-0, Advances to FHSAA State Semifinals

Viera vs Dwyer set for Thursday at 1 p.m.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Viera Hawks baseball team clinched an FHSAA State Semifinals berth after defeating George Jenkins 4-0 in the Regional Finals on Monday in Fort Myers.

The Hawks will now face off against Dwyer in the Class 6A State Semifinal on Thursday. The semifinal is set for 1 p.m. ET.

The No. 5 seed Viera Hawks have a 17-11 overall record on the season.

How they got here:

■ The Hawks defeated Lake Minneola 4-2 in the regional quarterfinals

■ In the regional semifinals, Viera defeated East River 6-1

■ Most recently, the Hawks clinched a State Semifinals berth after defeating George Jenkins 4-0

The Dwyer Panthers are the No. 2 seed and boast a 21-7-1 overall record on the season.
